हाल ही में भगत सिंह की बहन के निधन के नाम पर शेयर किया जा रहा यह दावा पूर्व में भी वायरल हो चुका है, जिसके बाद Newschecker द्वारा 8 जनवरी, 2021 को इस दावे की पड़ताल की गई थी. हमने अपनी पड़ताल के दौरान पाया कि भगत सिंह की बहन का निधन 2014 में ही हो चुका है. Times of India, Hindustan Times और Jagran द्वारा साल 2014 में प्रकाशित लेखों में भगत सिंह की बहन के निधन की जानकारी दी गई है. Sikh Siyasat News नामक संस्था द्वारा 29 सितंबर, 2014 को प्रकाशित एक लेख में भगत सिंह की बहन के निधन की सूचना के साथ, उनकी एक तस्वीर भी प्रकाशित की गई है.
इस प्रकार हमारी पड़ताल में यह बात साफ हो जाती है कि हाल ही में भगत सिंह की बहन का निधन का यह दावा भ्रामक है. असल में शहीद भगत सिंह की बहन का निधन साल 2014 में ही हो गया था.
